Important Dates to Remember:
- June 8-12- Learning From Home Continues
- June 15-19- No New Material. Last Chance For Students to Hand in Work.
Friday June 5th- Happy Friday everyone. I've received a few "Recruiting Posters", but I'm looking forward to seeing more! Keep working on them and any other assignments that you can hand in. Have a great weekend!!
For the week of June 1st-June 5th- Remember to continue to hand in any previous assignments. For this week, we can work on a “Recruiting Poster” for Athens or Sparta. Read the instructions on the sheet (posted at the bottom of this page) and take your time on this assignment. You have all this week to do it. You can use any size paper you want for it. Try to make it interesting and attractive. Don't worry, I won't grade you on your ability to draw! Just send me a picture of your end result. As usual, let me know if you have any questions or concerns about it. Have some fun with this assignment.
Thursday and Friday May 28th and 29th- If you have completed and handed in the assignment from Monday, you can start on this next one. It is on "Famous Greek People" and can be found, as usual, at the bottom of this page. You will have to use the "google machine" to do a little research. An example of how it should be done, is if the person was Mr. Trudel, his "Field" would be Education or Teaching and his accomplishments would be.....Being a great person and being friends with Mr. Steip! Obviously this is an attempt at humour, but hopefully you get the idea. There will be no new Social Studies work until Monday. Send it in when you complete it and contact me with any questions you might have.
Monday-Thursday May 25th-28th- Thanks so much to all of you who have been handing in your Ancient Greece work. Keep those assignments coming once you have finished them! As usual, I will post new assignments Monday and Thursday. Monday's assignment is posted at the bottom of this page and it's on Alexander The Great. The information about him is taken from the lyrics of a popular 80's Heavy Metal Band named "Iron Maiden" (ask your parents who they were if you have never heard of them)! You don't need to, but if you want to hear the actual song, give it a "google" and take a listen! The instructions are on the sheet, but don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Don't forget to complete any outstanding assignments listed below.
Friday May 22nd- Continue to work on the two assignments from this week (and any outstanding work). All of it can be found at the bottom of this page. Don't forget about your Math assessment. Have a great weekend.
Thursday May 21st- Thank you to those who are handing in their Social Studies work. The assignment for today and tomorrow will be on Athens and Sparta, and how they treated women and slaves in those societies. Please hand in Tuesday's work (and any outstanding assignments) when you get them finished.
Wednesday May 20th- Continue to work on what was assigned yesterday (or any other work that you have not yet completed). No new work until Thursday.
Tuesday May 19th- I hope you all had a good long weekend. Thanks to all of you who are completing and sending me your assignments. We are continuing with Ancient Greece this week. The assignments will be posted Tuesday (today) and Thursday. They are posted (as usual) at the bottom of this page. Please continue to do them in order and send them to me when completed. Today's assignment is on the "Economies of Athens and Sparta".
Friday May 15th- Continue to work on (and hand in) the two assignments from this week. Make sure you are all caught up on any previous assignments that you have not handed in (from the list at the bottom of this page). Have a great Victoria Day/May Long Weekend! Say thanks to Queen Victoria for the day off! Look her up on the computer to find out more.
Thursday May 14th- If you have completed and handed in the work from Monday, I will post the next assignment on Athens/Sparta Governments sheet below. You can work on it today and tomorrow. As I've said before, please keep handing in all assignments listed below.
Wednesday May 13th- For Social Studies, continue to work on and hand in the assignments listed below. No new work until Thursday. This should allow some of you to get "caught up" and focus on your Math. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Monday May 11th- Good morning everyone. Happy Monday! Put your toque on....it's cold out there! For this week, I will post a new Social Studies assignment on Ancient Greece today (Monday) and Thursday (May 14th). As usual, please complete all the previous assignments (in order) and email them to me when they are completed. Great job to those who have been doing this. Today's assignment is a "reading" followed by "questions" on the contrast between the Values of Athens and Sparta. It is found at the bottom of this page. Try to get it in by Thursday if you can, and contact me with any questions.
Friday May 8th- I really appreciate all the Social Studies work students are sending me. Keep it up! Today we are continuing to complete the assignments listed at the bottom of this page on Ancient Greece. The last one (from yesterday) is "The Making of Spartan Soldiers". If you have any questions, just let me know. If you are all caught up with your work, great! If not, keep working hard and get them in. Have a great weekend!
Thursday May 7th- A big thank you to everyone who is completing the SS assignments and handing them in. They are all listed in order at the bottom of the page. The assignment for today and tomorrow, is on the "Making of Spartan Soldiers."
You are to read the "article" and complete the questions below. You have today and tomorrow to complete it, so take your time. I think you will find Spartan society quite disciplined!!
Once again, keep handing in all your SS assignments from below.

Wednesday May 6th- No "new work" until Thursday. I would like to see EVERYONE continue to catch up and hand in all the previous assignments and focus on the latest Math work. Let me know if you have any questions.
Tuesday May 5th- Keep on sending in all your work as you get it completed. I am going to assign two assignments in Social Studies this week. One on Monday May 4th and another on Thursday. This should hopefully give everyone a chance to get caught up and hand everything in. It will also allow you to focus a little bit more on Math, and not be "overwhelmed" with work. Today's assignment will be on Ancient Greece at War(it can be found, as usual, at the very bottom of this page). It's a short reading with a few questions at the bottom. Continue to "hand it in" in whatever form is easiest for you. Make sure you are contacting me if you have any questions or concerns about anything.
Friday May 1st- I am pleased to be receiving more work from students. If you are all caught up and have handed in everything up to the last sheet on "Farming", great job! You can focus on the new Math work I posted today. I would still love to see more assignments handed in from everyone. Remember, DON'T start on the latest assignment unless you have completed and handed in the previous ones. Let me know if you have any questions.
Friday April 24th- Good morning. Continue to catch up on your assignments. They are listed, in order, below. Don't start a new one unless you have handed in the ones before. The last assignment (posted yesterday) was the "Language" sheet. For the few of you who are all caught up, you can focus on math and enjoy your day! I wish you all a great weekend!
Thursday and Friday April 23rd and 24th- I only have a few "Ancient Greece in 18 Minutes" Note Taking Sheets handed in. Continue with that if you need to (and of course any previous assignments you have not handed in below). If you are one of the few who are finished everything, you can work on the Ancient Greece Language sheet. Read the "text" or "article" on the sheet and then attempt the questions at the bottom. For the ones that say "work with a partner", you can obviously just do it on your own. This assignment is also found below.
Most importantly, ask me if you have any questions about anything. Talk soon.
